Community
What does "community" mean?
The word community comes from the Latin communis which means common, public, shared by all or many. It is composed of three elements: Com-a Latin prefix meaning with or together, Munis-a Proto-Indo-European origin that means the changes or exchange that link and Tatus-a Latin suffix means diminutive, small, intimate or local.
A community is a shared public place where people come together to exchange their ideas, friendship and lifestyle that link them together in a small intimate local neighborhood. The Housing Authority of the City of Frederick (HACF) is working towards a better tomorrow by providing an array of housing options for our citizens through strong stable communities!
