Lucas Village
The Lucas Village is located on the east-side of Frederick across from the Frederick Fairgrounds and is approximately four blocks from downtown Frederick. It includes a combination of duplexes, townhouses and apartments located on Pennsylvania Avenue, Rhode Island and Vermont Court. Every unit has tile floors throughout and wood cabinets in the kitchen. The Lucas Village consists of one (1) to five (5) bedrooms units that offer gas heat, gas stove for cooking and air conditioning.
The Lucas Village is equipped with a park and a community room. There is also a satellite office for the Housing Authority of the City of Frederick (HACF) that houses the Project ALIVE office. In addition, there is the Police Activities League (PAL) Center which provides after-school activities for school aged children and a Head Start program which provides a pre-school for 3 and 4 year olds. Children in the Lucas Village attend Spring Ridge Elementary, Thomas Johnson Middle and Thomas Johnson High Schools.
